According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona is indeed interested in acquiring the 36-year-old Croatian on a free transfer, viewing it as a strategic and cost-effective opportunity in this summer\u2019s market.<\/p>\n
Flick is eager to bring in Perisic, who had an outstanding season with PSV Eindhoven, helping the Dutch club win the Eredivisie. The Croatian winger scored 16 goals and provided 11 assists in 35 league appearances. The report also notes that Perisic\u2019s wages would not pose an issue for the club, as the player is enthusiastic about joining Bar\u00e7a and is willing to facilitate the deal. His motivation includes maintaining his place in Croatia\u2019s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup by continuing to compete at the highest level.<\/p>\n
Perisic is one of four summer signings under discussion by Bar\u00e7a\u2019s sporting director Deco, alongside Espanyol goalkeeper Juan Garcia, Liverpool winger Luis D\u00edaz (if Gerard Martin departs), and left-back Alejandro Grimaldo.<\/p>\n
Flick holds Perisic in high regard, having won the UEFA Champions League with him in 2020. The Croatian\u2019s professionalism, selflessness, and versatility \u2014 with the ability to play in any attacking role, including as a striker \u2014 make him a highly valued target.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s worth noting that Perisic originally joined Bayern Munich in August 2019 on loan from Inter Milan.
