According to information from the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, a few days ago, shortly after the season ended, news broke that surprised many observers. Ronald Araujo was removed from the transfer market, despite having been close to leaving during the winter transfer window. Juventus showed interest in signing him, and Araujo seemed receptive to the idea. Only a few close associates, including Robert Lewandowski, were able to convince him to stay. However, Araujo’s future remained uncertain, as a \u20ac65 million release clause was set to facilitate his summer move.<\/p>\n
However, the club changed its stance, deciding to keep Araujo and put Andreas Christensen up for sale, even though his contract runs until 2026. The club would receive no compensation if Christensen left next summer.<\/p>\n
Things then took another turn, with Hansi Flick deciding to keep Christensen and give Araujo a chance to get minutes in the back line. However, the German coach expressed disappointment with Araujo’s performance, which had not been at its best since the start of the season, especially considering his injuries.
