Hansi Flick is placing the Catalan team’s star at a decisive crossroads: either leave now or prepare to sit on the bench.

Hansi Flick has clearly informed one of Barcelona’s stars that he is not part of his plans for next season. If he has any doubts, Flick urged him to find a new destination and leave Barcelona as soon as possible. Flick does not intend to give him any opportunities to feature, and if he chooses to stay, he knows his place will be on the bench, with extremely limited playing time due to intense competition for his position.

According to information from the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, this decision is not surprising, especially given the limited playing time Héctor Fort received last season. He only played when absolutely necessary, in low-profile matches, and was always the last option at right-back. When Jules Koundé was available, he played almost every minute of the matches, resting only rarely, except for suspensions due to late tackles or fouls.

Only during these suspensions did the La Masia star have opportunities to play, but his performances were not enough to convince Flick. When Koundé was sidelined due to injury, the German coach preferred to try other players in that position, such as Eric García or Ronald Araújo, rather than giving the 18-year-old defender a chance.

Flick clearly does not see the Spanish Under-19 international as a promising prospect at the moment, unlike the confidence he has shown in several other young players. Therefore, he advised him to leave on loan to develop and gain experience at a higher level, something Barcelona currently cannot offer. It was not long before several clubs expressed interest in signing him.

Fort has attracted interest from several La Liga clubs who could guarantee him a starting spot. Both Joan Laporta and Deco agree that a temporary exit would be best for his future.

Despite all this, Fort shows no intention of leaving and instead emphasizes his desire to remain at Barcelona.

Flick warned him again of the difficult reality that would await him if he insists on staying.
