After an exceptional season in which Barcelona secured the domestic treble, the club’s management is now turning its full attention to the summer transfer market with determination and focus.
The team’s ambitions are no longer confined to domestic dominance; they now aim to reclaim European glory and realize the ultimate dream: lifting the UEFA Champions League trophy once again.
In this context, English forward Marcus Rashford of Manchester United is reportedly ignoring other offers as he waits for Barcelona to make a move to sign him this summer.
Barcelona is indeed considering Rashford—who spent last season on loan at Aston Villa—as one of three or four potential wingers under review. However, the club estimates the likelihood of completing the signing at below 41%, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano via DAZN.
According to the same source, Barcelona has held multiple meetings with Rashford’s brother and agent, who has visited the club’s headquarters on several occasions. Romano emphasized Rashford’s strong desire to play in Spain for Barcelona, revealing that he had pushed for the move as early as last January. However, a transfer did not materialize due to Ansu Fati’s continued presence in the squad. That situation may change within the next two days, with Fati expected to join AS Monaco.
Rashford—who also has offers from both English and Saudi clubs—remains committed to waiting for Barcelona, placing the Catalan giants at the top of his list when deciding on his future.
DAZN also reported that Colombian winger Luis Díaz, currently with Liverpool, remains the top priority for Deco, Barcelona’s sporting director. However, the deal appears difficult to complete due to Liverpool’s high financial demands, as the transfer could cost the Blaugrana around €80 million.
