Another farewell nears at Barcelona… and the source of concern comes from Pedri and Gavi’s closest friend!

Every summer brings unexpected surprises to the ranks of major clubs, and this year, Barcelona is no exception.

After the departure of one of the names that had long been part of the team’s young core, speculation began to escalate about a new player who might become the next casualty of Flick’s new project.

Everyone in the Blaugrana dressing room has started to feel that the disintegration has already begun — especially after the exit of Pablo Torre, a close confidant of Pedri and Gavi. But it seems this is not the end.

Spanish reports have indicated that coach Hansi Flick no longer includes Gerard Martin in his plans, despite his impressive and surprising season with the first team, during which he capitalized on Alejandro Balde’s injuries to establish himself as a reliable option on the left flank.

Although Martin began the season facing criticism related to his lack of experience, his performances clearly improved, and he became one of the players the German coach relied on in several key matches, particularly in the Champions League.

However, his rise does not appear to be enough to secure his future at Camp Nou. The management team of Laporta and Deco has reportedly begun to seriously consider the financial upside of selling him, especially with strong interest from major Premier League and Serie A clubs, some of which are said to be preparing offers of up to €10 million.

What made the situation even more tense was the reaction of Pedri and Gavi, who expressed their disappointment at the potential departure of Martin, as they share a strong bond with him both on and off the pitch.
According to reports, they view the decision to let him go as more of a “disguised dismissal” than a routine transfer, particularly since the player himself remains determined to stay and fight for his place.

While the management believes that Joffrey Torrentes, the rising star of La Masia, could be the ideal replacement for Martin, the current developments reflect the magnitude of the changes underway at Barcelona — and may offer an early glimpse into the true direction of Flick’s new project.
