Mourinho’s decision comes amid growing speculation about Vinícius’ future, especially given the continued lack of a final agreement on a contract extension, which has opened the door to interest from several major European clubs.

According to The Telegraph, Mourinho informed the Real Madrid board of his firm opposition to the idea of Vinícius leaving, emphasizing that the player is a key part of the team’s project for the new season and that he does not want to lose one of his mainstays.
Meanwhile, The Athletic confirmed that Arsenal’s interest in signing the Brazilian international is genuine, but the Portuguese manager insists on keeping Vinícius alongside Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham, considering them the core of the team around which he intends to build his squad.
Despite the London club’s interest, negotiations are still in their early stages, with significant financial obstacles potentially hindering the completion of the deal.
Vinícius’ salary, estimated at around £400,000 per week, is one of the biggest challenges facing Arsenal, as he would become the highest-paid player in the squad if he were to join the club, in addition to the substantial transfer fee Real Madrid would demand.
