Former Brazil star’s shock advice to Real Madrid talent: leave.. and a secret bid from a European giant!
Blunt and unexpected advice has come from a former Brazilian star, aimed directly at one of Real Madrid’s young talents: “You need to look for another club,” at a time when the player is going through one of his toughest spells at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The surprise did not end with the advice. The Brazilian also revealed a secret attempt by a European giant to snatch the player last summer, while more and more clubs are monitoring his situation ahead of January.
The player in question is Brazilian striker Endrick, 20, and the advice came from his compatriot Alexandre Pato, the former AC Milan star, as reported by Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.
Speaking at a sports festival in Trento, Italy, Pato said: “I think he needs a change, because it’s not easy to find him a place at Real Madrid. I don’t know what he thinks about it, but he can’t always leave the decision in the hands of his agents. In my opinion, he needs to look for another club.”
Pato revealed that Milan wanted to sign Endrick in the last summer transfer window: “I know that Cardinale (Milan’s owner) tried to bring him to Milan, but he didn’t manage it. He always thinks about what’s best for Milan. We chatted briefly in Copenhagen a few days ago. He cares a lot about Milan and will do everything he can for the club.”
Pato’s comments come as Endrick has almost no role at Real Madrid under Jose Mourinho. He has played just four minutes since the start of the season, although he missed the first games as part of a club plan to prevent injuries.
With Kylian Mbappe as the undisputed centre-forward and Espi acting as the impact substitute, Endrick has not had his chance, something he did not expect in pre-season. He had offers to leave Real Madrid, but chose to stay after Mourinho told him he was counting on him as a centre-forward or on the right.
Now Endrick sees that the reality is different: he does not play, he is never the first substitute and his role in the team is residual. As a result, he could leave Real Madrid in January, repeating what happened last season when he joined Lyon on loan.
Lyon are watching everything that happens with Endrick closely in case they can take him on loan again from January. But the French club are not the only ones interested: reports in Italy say Roma and Juventus are also considering the Brazilian as a winter reinforcement.
Now the decision is Endrick’s, along with Mourinho and Real Madrid of course. But if the player decides to leave in search of minutes away from the Bernabeu, it does not seem the club will put many obstacles in his way.
