Real Madrid spoiled Barcelona’s efforts to take revenge on the Merengues in the race for a special deal in the Mercato next summer.
Press reports revealed today that Real Madrid succeeded in snatching a new deal from Barcelona in light of the constant competition between the two teams on and off the field.
Real Madrid overtook Barcelona last summer in the race to sign Turkish Arda Guler, even though Barcelona was closest to the deal.
According to the Spanish Defense Central network, Barcelona tried hard to sign Franco Mastantoniono, the River Plate star, to respond to the Arda Guler deal.
The Spanish network indicated that Real Madrid returned strongly to the deal and was close to concluding it, as Johnny Calafat, Real Madrid’s chief scout, met with River Plate officials several times.
She explained that Real Madrid will play on the financial side, to exploit the economic crisis that Barcelona is going through.
It was revealed that Jose Angel Sanchez, CEO of Real Madrid, also made contact with River Plate regarding the Mastantoniono deal, bringing Guler’s scenario close to being repeated next summer.
Barca is currently unable to enter the competition in a strong manner due to the major financial crisis that the Catalan club is going through during the current period, which stands as an obstacle to the team in obtaining distinguished players.
For its part, Real Madrid seeks to sign players with great talent and abilities in order to be able to be permanently present in the arena of winning titles and to try to win the largest possible number of championships every season.
