Hansi Flick could not hide his great disappointment with the performance of some of Barcelona’s players, after the team’s loss to Monaco in an official match.
This came after high expectations for Barcelona’s appearance in the Champions League, after achieving five consecutive victories in the Spanish League, but things turned upside down quickly, as the team conceded an early goal, in addition to the sudden expulsion of Eric Garcia.
According to information received from the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, although Flick has no excuses, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the performance of some players who seemed absent from the field.
Rafinha Diaz was the most prominent example of this, as he did not appear at a significant level and did not contribute to the attack as expected of him, and although he helped in the defensive side, his performance was not influential.
Although the Brazilian international was one of the main elements in the team, as he performed well at the beginning of the season and scored goals, his level has declined recently, as appeared in the matches against Monaco and Girona.
This poor performance has worried Flick, who expects 100% from all players, especially with the injuries suffered by a group of stars in the team.
It seems that Rafinha is in danger of losing his starting place in the squad, if he does not regain his level and return to being the decisive player he was at the beginning of the season, and Flick was keen to convey this message to him in the locker room after the match, stressing that he will not hesitate to make tough decisions.
