Real Madrid’s management is working on developing multiple options to strengthen the first football team during the upcoming winter transfer period in January, with the aim of strengthening some vital positions in the current season.
Last summer saw the club sign only two deals, as French star Kylian Mbappe joined from Paris Saint-Germain on a five-year contract, in addition to signing Brazilian talent Andrick Felipe.
The club’s management is moving steadily towards implementing the new contracting plan, as it seeks to include a group of young talents to build a strong and sustainable team in the coming years.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, Real Madrid is closely monitoring Chris Rigg, the star midfielder of English club Sunderland, who has become a major target for a number of major clubs in Europe, especially in the German league, where Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are competing for him.
The newspaper also indicated that Real Madrid has been following Rigg for more than 12 months, as part of its strategy that focuses on signing promising and distinguished players, which reflects the club’s commitment to strengthening its ranks with creative young players in the future.
The newspaper concluded that Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti gave his approval to sign the player, whom he described as the “new Bellingham” due to the similarity of his playing style to Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham.
