Manchester United management is nearing a pivotal decision regarding the dismissal of Erik Ten Hag, following disappointing results in the English Premier League. The Dutch coach has led the club to its worst start in Premier League history.
In recent days, the name of German coach Thomas Tuchel has emerged as a potential successor to Ten Hag at Manchester United.
According to a report from the website Football Spain, Tuchel has identified Ronald Araujo as a primary transfer target if he assumes the managerial role at Manchester United.
The report further indicates that Tuchel is keen to sign Barcelona star Ronald Araujo during his new coaching tenure.
Manchester United management is hopeful that the Araujo deal can be completed during the winter transfer window in January, particularly given the player’s current absence from Barcelona due to injury and his refusal to renew his contract with the club, which may facilitate the transfer.
Araujo was considered a candidate to leave Barcelona last summer; however, the transfer did not materialize due to the injury he sustained.
The 25-year-old plays as a center-back, and his contract with Barcelona runs until June 2026. Araujo joined Barcelona in 2018 from Boston River and has since made 150 appearances for the first team across all competitions, scoring 8 goals and providing 5 assists.
