Hansi Flick made a sensational decision to let go of one of Barcelona’s young stars in the upcoming transfer window due to his lack of faith in the player’s level.
Barcelona tops the La Liga table this season after winning eight matches and losing one, accumulating 24 points, three points ahead of Real Madrid.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper “Sport,” Hansi Flick gave confidence to defender Hector Fort in the match against Alaves, and Fort responded with a good performance despite the limited work he had during the match.
This was his first start this season, as he had not participated much, and every time he entered the field, it was in the last few minutes, making him the least utilized player in Barcelona’s lineup.
However, it turned out that his participation in the starting lineup against Alaves was not an expression of confidence from the German coach, but rather a punishment for Jules Kounde, who had played every minute but was penalized for arriving late to the meeting.
In other words, Hansi still considers the Spanish Under-19 international to be “not mature” enough to play at Camp Nou.
Hansi Flick regrets not accepting the return of Joao Cancelo and not signing a new player for the right wing in the summer transfer window. He has asked Joan Laporta and Deco to look for reinforcements to fill that role.
It is becoming increasingly clear that Fort cannot be a replacement for Jules Kounde, and he hopes that the latter does not get injured, as that would mean relying on La Masia’s talent in crucial matches. Therefore, Victor Fort must consider leaving Barcelona soon if he wants to play regularly at the highest level.
He will need to go out on loan to continue his development, as the worst thing he can do is stay on the bench for an extended period.
Fort is ready to go on loan in January, as he has received several offers from clubs: Cadiz, Valladolid, Getafe, and several other La Liga teams want to sign the player.
Alaves were also very close to signing him in the summer, but Barcelona decided at the last minute to keep him, a decision that Flick now regrets.
