Barcelona president Joan Laporta has shared encouraging news for Blaugrana fans around the world regarding the club’s economic situation.
Laporta confirmed that the Catalan club is in a better financial position and will soon be able to sign players as desired.
In statements reported by the Catalan newspaper Sport, Laporta said, “Institutional stability will allow us to send a message of strength to the players. We will sign players for sporting reasons only.”
He added, “We will be able to sign whoever we want, as long as they have the desire to come, of course.”
Regarding Erling Haaland, Laporta stated, “We are interested in signing him, and we have received a positive reaction from the player. We have the capacity to bring him to Camp Nou in the next summer transfer window of 2025. For us, everything is possible because we have once again become a reference in the world of football.”
He continued, “The player is open to the idea of joining Barcelona and becoming the face of the club after its transformation at Camp Nou.”
Laporta also mentioned, “La Liga congratulated us on our efforts in the fierce battle to reduce losses.”
He added, “We will reach the desired state, but this success will not come to us without effort; we must work hard.”
Laporta concluded, “We can say that Barcelona earns more than it spends. We have seen a 41% increase in income and a 22% decrease in spending, which is very important.”
