Raphinha Signs Barcelona Renewal Until 2030 With €1 Billion Release Clause After Snubbing Saudi Offers

One of Barcelona’s most important stars has finally settled his future, after a summer full of temptations and huge offers that could easily have taken him away from the Spotify Camp Nou.

The star, who turned down offers that would have multiplied his salary several times over, has put pen to paper on a new long-term deal, giving Hansi Flick major stability in attack ahead of a decisive stretch of the season.

The player is Brazilian forward Raphinha, who has signed a contract extension with Barcelona until June 2030, as confirmed by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday, with the Catalan club set to announce it officially on Friday.

Raphinha’s current contract was due to run until June 30, 2028, meaning the new deal adds two more seasons to his stay, and president Joan Laporta is expected to attend the signing ceremony and the press conference for the announcement.

Sporting director Deco had previously said that Raphinha’s renewal until 2030 was on track, along with the extensions of Marc Bernal and Xavi Espart.

According to Spanish outlet Madrid-Barcelona, the new contract includes a salary befitting a first-team star, as well as a release clause of €1 billion.

Spanish reports say Raphinha received offers from Saudi clubs during the summer that would have multiplied his net salary by four, something Barcelona could not match, but the Brazilian chose to stay at Camp Nou.

Raphinha had already expressed his desire to extend in an interview with RAC1, saying he was thinking about finishing his career at Barcelona and explaining that when he signed until 2028 he was unsure about his physical condition at 30, but that things had changed for the better.

The renewal follows a superb start to the season for the Brazilian, crowned by his selection as LaLiga Player of the Month for September, while Hansi Flick won the Coach of the Month award for the same period.

On the fitness front, Raphinha suffered a scare during Brazil’s 4-2 win over Australia, but scans showed no structural damage, only swelling and pain, and reports suggest he could be available from the bench against Getafe on Saturday.
