The first leg of the Champions League semi-final between Barcelona and Inter Milan ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw, in an atmosphere charged with goals and emotions. The result left the door wide open for qualification ahead of the highly anticipated return match at the San Siro.
The decisive second leg will take place next Tuesday in Milan, Italy, amid immense fan anticipation to find out who will book a place in the Champions League final.
Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta has broken his silence, launching a scathing attack on UEFA following the semi-final clash between Barcelona and Inter.
Iniesta voiced his anger and deep frustration over UEFA’s decision, which he described as “unjust” toward Barcelona’s star player Lamine Yamal. Speaking candidly, he said: “With decisions like these… football will continue to decline without end.”
Reacting to UEFA’s failure to award Lamine Yamal the Man of the Match award despite his outstanding performance, Iniesta stressed that Yamal was the rightful recipient. He highlighted the youngster’s extraordinary dribbling and scoring skills, saying:
“What Yamal did in the match was exceptional, and he should have been recognized for it, but UEFA saw it differently. If these are the standards for such awards, the future of football will be riddled with injustice and neglect.”
Iniesta also expressed disbelief at UEFA’s disregard for such a standout performance, asserting that true appreciation of talent and on-pitch excellence would have made Yamal the clear and undisputed winner.
