Xabi Alonso, the current coach of German club Bayer Leverkusen, has announced his first demands to Real Madrid’s management as he prepares to take over as the team’s new coach. This comes as part of his preparations to succeed Italian Carlo Ancelotti, who is scheduled to leave the club on May 25.
According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Alonso, who will sign a three-year contract with Los Blancos, has outlined his priorities to strengthen the team’s squad for the upcoming season.
The demands include:
Signing a left-back to reinforce the left flank.
Adding a center-back, with Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth as the primary target.
Signing a midfielder, with Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad being of particular interest.
It is also worth noting that Los Blancos have already completed the signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool on a free transfer ahead of the Club World Cup.
Real Madrid is expected to officially announce Alonso’s appointment after the current season concludes, with his tenure set to begin following the Club World Cup.
