Endrik faces his first real setback at the start of his journey with Lyon after an impressive debut!

In a move that surprised Olympique Lyonnais fans, Brazilian winger Endrick Filipe, on loan from Real Madrid, will face an unexpected obstacle before the start of European competition, which could affect the team’s performance in continental tournaments in the coming months.

Sources confirmed that the player will not be able to participate with Lyon in Europa League matches until March, despite his impressive start with the French team. This is due to UEFA regulations that prohibit the registration of any new player after the start of the domestic league phase of any European competition.

Consequently, Endrick will miss the Europa League group stage matches (rounds 7 and 8). He will be able to officially join the team’s European squad during the new registration period at the beginning of March, allowing him to participate normally in the remaining continental competitions.

However, his participation in the French domestic league will not be affected. He will continue to play and maintain his high level of performance, keeping the competition fierce on all domestic fronts, as was the case with Portuguese player João Cancelo, who recently moved to Barcelona and faced the same European rules before officially joining the European squad in March.

This situation highlights the impact of continental federation regulations on loaned and new players, showing that even the most promising young talents face restrictions before taking on European challenges, forcing clubs to carefully rearrange their plans during the current season.
