A hot summer in Barcelona… A key first-team star is suddenly considering leaving because of Cancelo.

Barcelona’s summer will be full of challenges, not only in terms of transfers but also within the dressing room, where some disagreements have begun to surface regarding the left-back position, most notably concerning Alejandro Balde.

The Spanish full-back, who was a regular starter under Hansi Flick, has begun to sense a clear shift in the club’s strategy with the arrival of João Cancelo on loan, prompting him to reconsider his future.

Balde believes he hasn’t lost his starting place due to performance, but he has noticed that Cancelo is being considered a more prominent option, which is causing the young player concern about his role in the squad. Balde feels the Portuguese player is being given more leeway, while any lapse on his part could cost him his place.

The team’s coach sees Cancelo as possessing significant attacking versatility and tactical ability, but this change has led Balde to seriously consider listening to offers during the summer in search of regular playing time and a leading role, something Barcelona cannot currently guarantee him.

Several English clubs are closely monitoring the situation and are reportedly prepared to make lucrative offers for the young player, who is keen to ensure he continues his development and plays regularly at a top club.

If Barcelona doesn’t clarify the roles of all its players soon, the risk of Balde leaving the club remains, with next summer potentially proving decisive for the Spanish full-back’s future amid Cancelo’s growing influence within the squad.
