German star Lothar Matthäus, the legend of the German national team, revealed the deal that his compatriot Hansi Flick dreams of with his new team, Barcelona.
Flick hopes that he will have all the ingredients for success in his new training experience with the Catalan club in order to return Barcelona to the podium after a very difficult season that the Catalan team went through and left empty-handed without any title.
Matthews said, in statements reported by the Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo, “I hope that Barcelona will succeed in signing Williams. My friend Hansi Flick dreams of this deal.”
The German football icon continued: “The release clause in Williams’ contract is only 60 million euros, and his current value on the market exceeds 100 million euros. He is a wonderful player.”
He added: “Flick’s style fits Barcelona perfectly. With Guardiola, the Catalan team was great and played great football. With Flick, they can restore this magic.”
Matthews continued: “Flick wants his team to play offensively and attractively. Without a doubt, signing Nicholas Williams will help him get closer to this goal.”
Williams is 22 years old and is good at playing on the left wing, and his contract with Bilbao expires in June 2027.
Williams was promoted to Bilbao’s first team in July 2021, and since then he has played 122 matches, scoring 20 goals and making 26 goals.
