Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid, has agreed with a new technical director to succeed Italian Carlo Ancelotti to lead the Merengue team during the next season 2025-2026.

In light of this, the Spanish newspaper “AS” revealed that the Real Madrid club management has decided to contract with the young Spanish coach Xabi Alonso, coach of the German club Bayer Leverkusen during the coming period to lead the Merengue team to succeed Italian Carlo Ancelotti.
The newspaper added that Bayern Munich is competing to win the services of Xabi Alonso, with Liverpool, which the Spanish coach previously represented as a player, in order to contract with him, but the Spanish coach rejected the offers coming from Bayern Munich and Liverpool and decided to wait with Bayer Leverkusen in order to move to Real Madrid.
The newspaper added that Real Madrid’s management has received Alonso’s decision with great happiness in recent months, especially since the Spanish coach has a special relationship with Florentino Perez, who, if asked to come and coach Real Madrid, would immediately agree.
