Real Madrid continues to move in the right direction towards concluding two heavyweight deals during the upcoming summer transfer period, with the aim of renovating the first team roster.
These steps come in conjunction with FIFA opening the door for clubs to sign new players starting from the beginning of next June for a period of ten days, in preparation for the Club World Cup in its new format.
According to the Spanish network Relevo, Real Madrid is seeking to sign Canadian left-back Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich, in addition to English right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool.
Relevo confirmed that there are actual contacts underway between Real Madrid and Alexander-Arnold, as the club has contacted the player’s family to find out his position on moving to the royal team.
Despite Liverpool’s attempts to renew the player’s contract, Alexander-Arnold has not yet responded to any offer from the management, which opens the door to the possibility of his transfer to Real Madrid as a free player, in line with President Florentino Pérez’s policy of signing players whose contracts with their clubs have expired.
The newspaper concluded that, on the other hand, Alphonso Davies rejected Bayern Munich’s attempts to renew his contract, waiting for the end of the season to leave for free to Real Madrid.
