Barcelona is preparing for a strong away match against Deportivo Alavés in the ninth round of La Liga, seeking to recover from their recent defeat against Osasuna and return to the path of victories.
Many Barcelona players are currently facing secondary roles in Hansi Flick’s plans, and everyone is looking for a chance or considering leaving for another team that allows them to play regularly.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, one of the most prominent cases is that of Héctor Fort. Fort received offers to leave during the summer and was very close to exiting the club.
However, Alavés was the closest to completing the deal, having reached a preliminary agreement with the player. Still, Joan Laporta and Deco decided to halt the transfer after selling Julian Araujo to Bournemouth, and the serious injuries suffered by Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen contributed to this decision.
As a result of these circumstances, along with the departure of Joao Cancelo, who moved to Saudi Arabia, Fort remained at Camp Nou, similar to the situations of Iñigo Martínez and Eric García.
However, Fort has not had the opportunity to prove his worth in matches, remaining a substitute in all games, as the team has relied heavily on Jules Koundé.
The newspaper indicated that Fort also struggled to regain his competitive rhythm with the reserve team in the first Spanish league, despite being a key player in the first team squad due to the numerous injuries Barcelona is experiencing.
It is evident that Flick does not trust him, as he has only played forty minutes spread over three matches, and when he did participate, he was not convincing enough to demonstrate his value, suggesting that his future appears uncertain.
If Fort wishes to continue his development, he needs to move to a team that guarantees him regular playing time, as Hansi Flick has informed Deco that the player will not play a single minute for Barcelona again.
In this context, Laporta and Deco have placed Fort’s name on the list of players who can be released, and they will consider all loan offers they receive. His departure could also be contemplated permanently in exchange for a suitable offer, provided it includes a buy-back option.
