According to reports from the Spanish newspaper ‘‘El Nacional‘‘, Barcelona were jubilant after their thrilling 4-3 win over Celta Vigo. However, one incident quickly soured the celebrations within the club. While the players were celebrating a significant victory in the La Liga title race, Ansu Fati experienced a moment of anger and discontent, which was immediately reflected in his actions.
Despite spending most of the second half warming up, Fati was not given a single minute to play. At the end of the match, the player expressed his anger by kicking a water cooler, then violently throwing his shirt to the floor and leaving the dressing room without greeting anyone. This behavior did not go unnoticed, especially by club president Joan Laporta, who, according to internal sources, deemed the player’s reaction unacceptable.
Laporta has been closely monitoring Fati’s situation for some time, especially after he was assigned the number 10 shirt following Messi’s departure. This raised high expectations for him, but he failed to meet them due to injuries and a decline in performance. After an unsuccessful loan spell with Brighton, he returned to Barcelona this season with the aim of regaining his form, but he has not featured in coach Hansi Flick’s plans. His recent behavior appears to have been the final straw.
Laporta believes that a La Masia player must demonstrate a different attitude, especially during moments when the team is achieving crucial victories. He feels that such behavior creates a negative atmosphere in the dressing room and damages the club’s image.
For this reason, the club has already begun looking for a permanent exit for Ansu Fati next summer, whether through an outright sale or another transfer arrangement, particularly given his high salary and diminishing role.
Fati’s reaction after the Celta match not only angered Laporta but also marked a turning point in his future at Barcelona. The trust placed in him has faded, and with the club heading toward a restructuring of the squad for the 2025 season, his departure now appears to be only a matter of time.
Laporta has given sporting director Deco the green light to listen to offers, and this time there seems to be no turning back. Ansu Fati’s time at Barcelona is nearing its end.
