This summer is expected to be the busiest in the last decade in terms of departures and arrivals at Real Madrid. A series of injuries has ravaged the team, particularly in defense, and the club is considering several changes.
As Saudi club Al-Nassr seeks to bolster its ranks with a top-class defender, German center-back Antonio Rüdiger, a Real Madrid player, has emerged as a prime target during the upcoming summer transfer window.
This interest comes amid Al-Nassr’s management’s concerns about a potential departure of Spanish defender Aymeric Laporte, prompting them to search for a replacement with defensive experience and strength.
According to press reports, Al-Nassr has made a tempting offer to Rüdiger, including a four-year contract worth a total of €100 million, or €25 million annually. This offer exceeds his current salary at Real Madrid, which ranges between €11 million and €14 million annually. In press statements prior to his country’s match against Germany in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals, Antonio confirmed his happiness at Real Madrid, indicating that he is not considering leaving the club in the near future.
The German defender explained: “In football, you can’t predict the future, but at the moment, I’m very happy here and I’m not thinking about leaving anytime soon. That’s all there is to it.”
For his part, Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti is keen to keep the German, considering him a key component of his defensive lineup, especially given the repeated injuries that have plagued the Merengue defense this season.
