After an exceptional season in which they secured a domestic treble (La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup), Barcelona is now confidently moving forward to strengthen both its technical structure and financial foundations in preparation for a new campaign aimed at reclaiming prominence on the European stage.
As part of its strategy to reinforce the squad and secure funds for future signings, the club’s management has begun to consider offers for some of the first-team’s key players.
According to the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, the Barcelona dressing room has taken a unanimous and unequivocal stance: Fermín López is untouchable. Despite reports of offers exceeding €60 million from clubs in the Premier League and Bundesliga, the prevailing sentiment within the first team is that the young midfielder must stay.
Top players such as Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Gavi, and Araujo regard Fermín as a crucial component of the current squad and, more importantly, as an integral part of the club’s long-term sporting project. His impactful goals, outstanding physical presence, and commanding personality on the field earned him the respect of his teammates and the admiration of the fans throughout the season.
Within the club, Fermín is seen not just as a talented asset, but as a symbol of Barcelona’s footballing identity and someone capable of making a decisive difference on the biggest stages. As a result, the team’s most influential players have conveyed a clear message to the board: losing him at the peak of his rise is not an option.
Lamine Yamal—considered one of Fermín’s closest allies on and off the pitch—has publicly voiced his support for the midfielder’s continued presence at the club on several occasions. Pedri and Gavi, who share similar roles both on the field and in the locker room, have also expressed their desire to continue developing alongside him.
Club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco have received this message loud and clear. Internally, they have made it known that selling Fermín is not under consideration. Beyond the financial implications, they recognize that his departure could undermine the sporting credibility of Hansi Flick’s project and risk sparking backlash from the fans.
Even though several major offers have landed on Barcelona’s table, the club has not entered into negotiations—not for €60 million, nor for €70 million. The internal stance is firm: Fermín is not for sale. At just 22 years old, he is seen as a cornerstone of the future, alongside Yamal, Pedri, and Gavi.
Currently, the dressing room, technical staff, and Fermín himself are all united in their commitment to continuing together. This collective agreement has played a decisive role in shutting down any potential transfer, which is now firmly off the table.
