Today, Wednesday, a Spanish press report revealed a grand plan that Manchester City was arranging with the aim of kidnapping one of Barcelona’s jewels.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, Manchester City wanted to sign the young Spanish winger, who has Moroccan origins, Lamine Yamal.
Yamal’s (16-year-old) contract with Barcelona expires at the end of the current season, and his contract has not yet been renewed.
The newspaper added that City had intended to sign with Yamal, and then loan him to Girona, “which is also owned by the City Football Group,” due to his young age.
However, the newspaper indicated that the player’s desire is to continue with Barcelona and write a new history with the Catalan club.
Barcelona is expected to finish the Yamal contract renewal file, once redundant players, such as Sergino Dest and Clement Lenglet, are eliminated.
