Some press sources revealed this Monday morning that Real Madrid decided to withdraw from pursuing one of Barcelona’s most prominent goals during the upcoming summer Mercato.
Barcelona is seeking to strengthen its ranks during the coming period to return to competing for championships after Barcelona lost all the titles it competed for this season.
The Spanish newspaper Sport said that the Royal administration decided to withdraw from signing Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich, whose contract with the Bavarian giant expires at the end of the summer of 2025, amid doubts about whether he will continue or renew his contract to remain at the Allianz Arena.
The newspaper pointed out that although Kimmich’s market value is only 50 million euros, his selling price may drop to only about 10 million euros for fear that the Bavarian management will allow him to leave for free next summer.
Real Madrid was keen to include a replacement midfielder for Toni Kroos, who decided to retire from football, but Perez prefers to obtain the signatures of young players, and Kimmich will turn thirty next February, in addition to the fact that he finds it difficult to obtain players from Bayern.
Because of Real Madrid’s withdrawal from the deal, the way was cleared for Barcelona to obtain the distinguished German player whom Flick is demanding to sign at any price.
