Real Madrid, led by Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, faced a double blow with the injury of two players after the match against Lille.
The Royal Club met its French counterpart Lille on Wednesday evening in the second round of the 2024-2025 Champions League.
The Pierre Mauroy Stadium, home to the French club, witnessed the home team’s victory over the guests with a clean goal scored by Canadian Jonathan David.
According to what was revealed by the Spanish newspaper “Marca,” Ancelotti decided during the match to bring in Endrick and replace Rodrigo due to physical issues.
It was reported that the Italian coach wanted to start with the young Brazilian player, but it was surprising that he did so in the Champions League.
The report explained that Brazilian Rodrigo Goes was suffering from back problems that not only prevented him from starting but also left him without minutes.
Marca also confirmed that the other injured player was Brazilian Eder Militao, who had been experiencing discomfort since the first half. Although he indicated that he could continue, he was replaced in the second half.
The player was seen with an ice pack on the quadriceps muscle of his left leg, and depending on the situation’s development, Militao will undergo tests upon his arrival in Madrid.
