After a season in which Real Madrid failed to win any domestic or continental titles, it became clear that the club was in urgent need of a reshuffle. The inability to contend for trophies prompted club president Florentino Pérez to make a decisive move: ending the Carlo Ancelotti era and thanking him for his contributions, despite the shortcomings of the past season.
Meanwhile, French club Paris Saint-Germain is currently ahead of its Spanish counterpart, Real Madrid, in the race to sign Argentine jewel Franco Mastantuono from River Plate.
According to Argentine network TYC Sports, PSG has decided to focus all its efforts on securing the deal before Real Madrid can step in, and is already negotiating personal terms with the player.
Paris intends to activate the release clause in Mastantuono’s contract, meaning the club would not need to negotiate directly with River Plate—an aggressive move, especially considering that Los Blancos have yet to take any concrete steps toward signing him.
The 17-year-old is regarded as one of Argentina’s brightest young prospects. A highly skilled midfielder, he has impressed with his ability to score, create chances, and dictate play with vision and technical flair.
However, Real Madrid is unwilling to engage in a bidding war with the Parisian club over the player. Florentino Pérez’s administration has a clear and consistent approach when it comes to signing young talents: Los Blancos prefer to monitor prospects over time to evaluate whether they can genuinely contribute to the first team in the near future.
