According to information received from the Spanish newspaper “Sport”, Barcelona President Laporta exploded in anger because of the performance and the same mistakes that Barcelona made tonight, and he came close to directing a shock to Xavi at the end of the season, despite the announcement of his continuation only days ago.
The newspaper added that Laporta became convinced that Xavi would not add anything new and the team went from bad to worse under his leadership. Therefore, Laporta contacted the agent of the German coach, Hansi Flick, to find out his requests in order to agree to lead Barcelona in the next season.
The newspaper indicated that Laporta took several decisions towards Barcelona’s stars, the first of which was agreeing to Bayern Munich’s offer and getting rid of Araujo, the player since his association with Bayern Munich last January, while he was performing at his worst levels with Barcelona.
The second player is French defender Kunde, who continues his poor performance this season, as he has become a major defensive gap in Barcelona. Therefore, Laporta decided to listen to the upcoming offer for the player, and he is among the most prominent interested in contracting with the English player, Manchester United.
The newspaper added that Laporta took the decision to stop negotiations to renew the contract of the Spanish player Sergi Roberto and thank him at the end of the season. The player no longer has anything new to offer with Barcelona.
The newspaper concluded that Barcelona sporting director Deco is trying to convince Laporta to sell Ter Stegen and sign a new goalkeeper, especially with the disastrous levels presented by the German goalkeeper, whom Deco considers one of the weakest goalkeepers in the world.
