No room for pity in Barcelona’s project… Laporta decides to sack Barcelona’s talented star from the team!

With the start of Hansi Flick’s second season at Barcelona, the Catalan club is seeking to rebuild the team according to a new, more balanced and effective vision. This requires getting rid of some players who are no longer part of the technical staff’s plans for next season.

In this context, Joan Laporta will show no leniency toward a player who was expected to become a global star but clearly failed to meet expectations and adapt to Barcelona’s style of play.

According to information from the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, this is an unfortunate situation, especially since Noah Darwish was viewed as a long-term bet, and there was a belief within the club that he could make a significant impact in the medium and long term, similar to Pedri González.

Darwish arrived at Camp Nou following his impressive performances in the European Under-17 Championship, where he led Germany to the title, and then continued his brilliance in the Under-17 World Cup. The continent’s top clubs competed to sign him, but he chose to take on the challenge in Spain, wearing a Barcelona shirt. However, he faced difficulties settling in during the first few months, particularly due to the language barrier. Despite his young age, he played a full season with the reserve team in the Spanish Football Federation’s first division, a highly competitive league for which he was not fully prepared, although he also participated with the Juvenil A team in some UEFA Youth League matches.

During this season, Darwish, who came from Freiburg, was eager to take a step forward, taking advantage of the changes in the reserve team and the confidence shown in him from the start by coach Hans-Dieter Flick. Flick allowed him to participate in the pre-season and even called him up to the first team on several occasions, but he never made an official appearance. However, his role with Barcelona Atlético continued to be limited, and recurring injuries did not help him establish himself.

After the reserve team’s relegation to the second division of the Spanish Football Federation, a decision was made regarding his future. Laporta and sporting director Deco are no longer convinced of the German player’s development trajectory, especially in light of the emergence of other La Masia talents such as Guille Fernández, Kim Junyent, Pedro Rodríguez, Juan Hernández, and Pedro Fernández, who are believed to have greater potential.

As a result, the club decided to put Darwish up for sale this summer in an attempt to recoup the €3 million they invested in him and possibly even make a profit. The player, for his part, is also convinced that leaving is the best option after two seasons in Catalonia and has already been put on the transfer list. Interest has not been slow to mount, with German clubs such as RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, and Stuttgart expressing interest in exploring the terms of his contract.
