Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed the outlines of the club’s future after his re-election, emphasizing that fans will experience an exceptional period in the coming years thanks to the sporting and administrative project currently underway.
In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Laporta explained that the next phase will bring many successes for the team, noting that the administration aims to build a squad capable of consistently competing for and winning titles over the next five years.
He added that the support of Barcelona fans has been a crucial element in the project’s continuity, affirming that the club is on the right track to regaining its place among Europe’s elite clubs.
A Massive Stadium Development Project
The Barcelona president also discussed the club’s stadium development project, explaining that the club is working on building a modern stadium with a capacity of 105,000 spectators. This will give the team a significant boost both on and off the field, ensuring a more stable future for the club in the coming years.
Early Move to Secure Attacking Signing
In a related development, reports—most notably from the newspaper El Nacional, indicate that Barcelona’s management has already begun taking steps to bolster their attacking line during the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to these reports, Laporta has given sporting director Deco the green light to begin negotiations with representatives of Argentine striker Julián Álvarez, currently playing for Atlético Madrid. This move aims to strengthen the team’s attack in anticipation of the future.
This initiative comes as Polish striker Robert Lewandowski’s time at Barcelona nears its end, prompting the management to seek a replacement striker capable of leading the attack in the coming years.
Barcelona’s management is striving to finalize several important matters early, both in terms of player signings and infrastructure development, as part of a long-term plan to return the team to European glory.
